To solve this musical murder-mystery, the audience is brought back in time to the scene of the crime. It's 1932 and it's backstage at the world renown Palace Theater in New York City. The audience gathers clues as they watch and listen to a former song and dance team reminisce about Vaudeville, and what brought it to its demise. Going back 38 years in time they piece together the death of Vaudeville from the beginning.
While backstage, the audience will experience 29 classic tunes, all published prior to 1933. Many of the songs are still sung today even though they were introduced nearly a 100 years ago. Songs such as It Had to be You, Over There, You're Getting to be a Habit with Me, and I Can't Give You Anything But Love.
Also appearing in the show are a magician, a numerologist act, and a Burns and Allen comedy routine. The popular and local singing duo, Chris Ryan and Jerry Katz play the married Vaudevillian song and dance team, The Singing Rooneys. Chris and Jerry have been singing together for eight years and have delighted local audiences with such delights as Hooray for Hollywood, Broadway Buffet, An Evening with Fred and Ginger, and their latest Simply Sinatra.
The musical runs ten minutes shy of 2 hours and includes a 12-minute intermission.
